The Akubra Boss Hat. A western style hat featuring a round crown, curled brim and satin lining. Fitted with a stylish leather hatband, with brass studs. Fully lined and shaped with a raw edge brim. Sometimes the name says it all... This hat is the Boss.

The boss I received was, like most Akubras, a bit loose but shrunk with a little steam to a perfect fit. I expect to get a lot of wear out it!! (Posted on 26/05/2009)

Hat sizing guide

If unsure of your hat size, please use the following steps & refer to the size chart below:

1. Simply obtain a tape measure and measure the circumference of the head, just above the ears.

2. Ensure that the tape is wound straight around the head and is level from front to back. You may feel a bump in the back of the head - please ensure that the tape sits over the bump as this will be the widest part.

3. Please measure a few times for accuracy.

4. If the measurement is in between sizes, please select the larger size. For example, a head measuring 59.1cm - 60cm would take a size 60cm hat.

Please note: For Akubra hats with a leather hat band, It's always best to buy a hat that is a little too big, rather than too small. As well as moulding to your head, your Akubra hat will shrink over time. If a hat feels too loose initially, you can pack the inside of the crown to make the hat feel smaller, or use a hat Insert.
