The Akubra Pilbara is a precreased hat with a high crown and wide brim to give outstanding protection from the sun. The Pilbara is a region in Western Australia which is home to some fantastic rocky landscapes and rich in natural resources. The hat is unlined and shaped with a raw brim. The hatband is leather with a bronze Akubra logo.

Due to the large variety of Akubra hats, we are unable to keep in stock every hat in every colour. All special order hats will take approx 3 months for delivery.

Hat sizing guide

If unsure of your hat size, please use the following steps & refer to the size chart below:

1. Simply obtain a tape measure and measure the circumference of the head, just above the ears.

2. Ensure that the tape is wound straight around the head and is level from front to back. You may feel a bump in the back of the head - please ensure that the tape sits over the bump as this will be the widest part.

3. Please measure a few times for accuracy.

4. If the measurement is in between sizes, please select the larger size. For example, a head measuring 59.1cm - 60cm would take a size 60cm hat.

Please note: For Akubra hats with a leather hat band, It's always best to buy a hat that is a little too big, rather than too small. As well as moulding to your head, your Akubra hat will shrink over time. If a hat feels too loose initially, you can pack the inside of the crown to make the hat feel smaller, or use a hat Insert.
